Snack Market
The
Donghuamen Snack Market in Wangfujing has wide
range of foods and serving stalls.
The
300-meter market has always been a must-visit
venue for visitors to Beijing, giving them the
chance to taste genuine local snacks. While originally
serving only Beijing food. Today, visitors can
find dishes from the like of Guangzhou, Shanghai,
Hunan and just about everywhere else in China.
Some 100 choices of food are available, all at
affordable prices. For example, Yunnan Xishuangbanna
rice in a bamboo tube costs just eight yuan, and
boiled rice noodle four yuan.
Barbecued
mutton, chicken, and vegetables are extremely
popular. The mutton cubes are roasted on skewers
said to be the longest in Beijing. Each cost five
yuan.
