The museum is the latest and largest of China's museums
devoted to science and technology. The museum is designed
to teach Chinese children some scientific knowledge,
but it also has a lot of adult visitors. It was the
first Chinese museum to allow visitors to try out expensive
interactive equipment, such as computers linked to the
Internet. It offers many other things to do such as
making special high-tech telephone calls, conducting
simple chemical tests, riding bicycles on a special
single-lane trail, or "blowing" up a basketball.
