The Deshengmen arrow tower is one of the few structures
along the original city all to have survived the ravages
of time and now features an exhibition, a vivid account
of the development of Beijing through the ages, through
constant reconstruction and expansion. The display of
authentic items such as signal cannons and gate locks
transports visitors into history.
The
Museum of Ancient Coins inside the arrow tower has a
collection of more than 1,000 Shang Dynasty (B.C.16th-11th
Century) coins Song Dynasty (A.D.960-1279) paper money
and copper coins used during the period before Liberation
in 1949. Each coin has an interesting story behind it
