My Congratulations, Some Thoughts and Suggestions Li Dongzhe Today, www.travel-silkroad.com holds the press conference in Xi'an, which is the famous historical and cultural city, and declare the start business of the website. It is a very happy event and I express my sincere congratulations. Being invited to attend this conference, I think of what I should say over and over again. Finally, I decide to use this article title to express my ideas and communicate with others in following events. A. The impression
on the website Recently, I often get in touch with the leader of the website and directly do some actual work of it. In the actual operation, I know that the decision of establishing the website is planed meticulously and expounded seriously. I know that all staff work for the establishment of the website day and night. I know that there are many young, diligent and promising specialized talents who do their work skillfully. I know the website has many partners and is supported by lots of specialists and scholars in many ways. The website was registered at the end of 1998 and it has set up less than 1,000 titles for over 3 years. The collection of 40-million-word files has been edited and the plentiful webpages are finished. I am very surprised that the amount of work and its scale are large. Nowadays, the information, knowledge, internationalization and network are era's subject. Following the development of our society, the website not only takes the tourism as its main business, which held widely has good prospects in the 21st century, but also collects it with network, information, knowledge spending and cultural exchanges. In particular, the website names itself "Travel Silk Road" which is renowned at home and abroad, and it uses the Silk Road to expand the oriental history and culture. These facts give me following impressions: the location of the website is sensible; it adapts itself to the trends; its contents have not only information but also cultural background; it has its own features and superiority. I think that people must normally accept it and it must be vigorous. At the same time, I think that it must continue to work hard if it wants to succeed in doing operation hereafter. As an ICP, it must do lots of related work if it wants to get benefits and obeys the market rules, and it has to come up against some difficulties. Like a sailing ship, it has to be shocked by stormy waves. But we believe that it can be navigated if it is hard and the navigator is good at navigating. narration of the Sino-Korean culture exchange events North Korea and South Korea are China's neighboring countries in the aspect of geographical position. The both cultures belong to the oriental culture in the aspect of cultural system. The both have long history in the aspect of cultural exchange. There has been more than 5-thousand-year history since the ancient Korean myth of founding the state. The cultural exchange of both countries has lasted in a long time. And both effects, especially the direct and wide effect of Chinese culture on North Korea/South Korea surpass any other countries and districts. There are historical facts as examples: The official Korean pronunciation was marked by Chinese in Sinla Dynasty. Sinla set up close relationship with Tang Dynasty after it united other three states. Many envoys were sent to China and they visited all parts of the country. According to the historical records, Zhenguan 22nd year, the Prime Minister Yizanqianjinchunqiu and his son Wenwang visited Tang Dynasty. On December 20, Zhenguan 22nd year, Tangtaizong presented the national treasure "Inscription Hot Spring" to the Sinla Special Envoy Yizanqianjinchunqiu and his son Wenwang. The specialists acclaim that it was the grand event in the history of Sino-Korean cultural exchange. In the earlier stage of Corea Dynasty, the hand written copy and printed copy of the large Tripitaka was spread from Song Dynasty and Liao State. In the aspect of cultural education, the Directorate of Imperial Academy and the state knowledge of Kokuryo and Sinla Dynasty used the Analects, Xiaojing, Zhouyi, Annals, Zhuozhuan, Maoshi, and shangshu as their courses. In the aspect of personnel exchange, a famous monk of Sinla Dynasty named Yixiang came to China to seek Buddhism. He visited Chang'an, the capital of Tang Dynasty, and died in China. The famous great writer Cui Zhiyuan came to China to take an examination and was selected to be an official of Tang Dynasty. The famous philosopher of Li Dynasty named Li Gai was affected by Chinese philosophical thinking and was a comprehensive expression of Zhuzi Theory. When you research Korean ancient codes and records, you will find out the effects of Chinese successive dynasties' ancient codes and records. In Li Dynasty, the contents of literary composition in rhyme "Sishengtongkao" was made extracts from the essence of Chinese book "Hongwuzhengyun", and the encyclopedia "Leiyuancongbao" refereed to the Chinese book "Yiwenleiju". The "Qianshuili", which was called the milestone of development of Korean astronomical calendar, referred to Chinese calendar. In addition, the agricultural book "Nongjiajicheng" referred to Chinese Song Dynasty's agricultural books, and the book "Yifangleji", which had various contents, was the collection of Chinese medical books. Besides, "Qianziwen", "Sanzijing" and so on were spread widely in Korea and became the local textbooks. In modern times, when Japan invaded Korea, lots of Korean patriotic personages lived in China and worked on Anti-Japanese Campaign. And it had great influence in Sino-Korean cultural exchange. From the examples above, we can know the wide range of Sino-Korean historical cultural exchange and we can understand that Chinese culture has wide and large effects on Korea in history. According to my view, Sino-Korean cultural exchanges have undergone following various periods: (a) The Sino-Korean cultural exchanges were in vogue from the ancient time to Li Dynasty. (b) Because of Japanese colonized ruling and enslaving educational cultural exchange had been destroyed from Japanese invasion to the Liberation Period. (c) From Liberation Period to the North and the South Dissension, because of complicated political reasons. Korea was divided into North Korea and South Korea. And there was unprecedented situation in cultural exchanges between China, North Korea and South Korea. The Sino-North Korean cultural exchanges continued to be developed in a long period. But the Taiwan-South Korean cultural exchanges had been developed. In particular, the cultural exchanges between South Korea and the western countries had been increased and the western countries had wide effects on South Korea. (d) From The Sino-South Korean establishment of diplomatic relations to present, with the development of both countries' relations, the cultural exchanges were increased especially the economic cooperation and the personal exchanges were increased, and the cultural exchange had resumed and developed. Now, the both countries' cultural exchanges show a dynamic situation. There was a new feature that modern cultural exchanges were added, besides the traditional cultural exchanges. The research of national traditional culture was noticed in South Korea. National Culture Advance Association, South Korean Spiritual Culture Research Academy, History Compiling Committee were set up. These specialized organizations developed the research of national traditional culture and ancient codes and records. For developing and increasing the Sino-South Korean cultural exchanges, South Korean government set up the Cultural News Department, the Seoul Cultural Trade Hall to develop the exchange. There has been 127 Korean local governments establishing the friendly city relationship with various China's districts. The wide exchange relationship was set up in the science, art and education system. The both countries' returned students increased quickly and the number of Korean tourists set a historical record. The Korean said, "the rapid development of both countries' cultural and academic exchanges are astonishing, and the prospect is good." And they said, " the 21st century is a cultural era and the culture industry is the basic industry in the 21st century." Reviewing the past, seeing the present and looking forward to the future, we can be sure that the Sino-South Korean cultural exchanges will develop quickly. I am sure this occasion will last forever that the Korean advocate the Chinese culture and are interested in Chinese culture, and South Korea must be an origin of Chinese tourism. After narrating the matters above, I should come back to our story. I think that the website should try to develop the prospective and significant field about Sino-South Korean tourism and cultural exchanges. And I have many reasons to believe that South Korean tourists will accept it and it will contribute to the Sino-South Korean cultural exchanges. C. Some suggestions Finally, I think, although I have pored on some questions, but I deeply feel that my comprehension of the situation is limited and my viewpoints may be biased and fallacious.
