Lectures on Lao Zi's Dao De Jing

The glimpse of the map of China gives one a strong impression of the vast Western China. We can say that China can not be a big country without the vast Western China. With the trend of development and progress in the world, humankind is ringing in the era of the Pacific Ocean. China has become the focus of world attention in this changing era. If we say that the coastal cities are the dazzling pearls on the Chinese land, the vast Western China is its treasure bowl----a place rich in natural resources because more than half of the country's verified natural resources are in the region.

As we go back into the Chinese history 5,000 years ago, we will find Western China has a very glorious past. It was here that Huang Di (the Yellow Emperor), the legendary ancestor of the Chinese Nation, initiated the Chinese civilization because he unified the Chinese Nation for the first time. And it was also here that Lao Zi, the first great ancient philosopher of the world, left us his great book----Dao De Jing!
