The term the Silk Road appeared at first between the Zhou Dynasty and the Qin times in Chinese history. From B.C.138 to 139, Zhang Qian, the famous diplomat and traveler of the Western Han Dynasty, left his bright and glittering footprints on his way to the Western Regions. From then on, the Silk Road has formally become the "State Road" through which China has linked the East to the West.

More than 2,000 years, along the historical journey that runs through Asia and Europe and maintains the link between the oriental and the western civilizations, the Silk Road has linked the Chinese culture with the Indian, Roman and Persian cultures, spreading such great Chinese inventions as silk, gunpowder, papermaking and printing far into the West while introducing Buddhism, Nestorian and Islamic cultures and arts into China…
